My Background
Michael Mello, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has experience working with clients from ages 12-30 in various clinical settings. I offer a strengths based approach to support all clients that I work with, understanding that every client has the ability and potential to reach goals and achieve mental freedom. Upon working with clients, they have often described my approach as being compassionate, calm, patient, and thoughtful.

Having grown up in Farmington, CT and competed in varsity sports, I deeply understand the immense pressure of balancing athletic and academic demands. With a bachelor’s degree from Fairfield University and a master of social work degree from the University of Connecticut, I bring a wealth of experience to my practice. I have worked extensively with students in behavioral schools and spent over two years as a therapeutic mentor and futures coach, guiding clients through their personal and professional growth.

My diverse background equips me to offer unique, tailored support for navigating life’s challenges and achieving your goals.
After being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis as a sophomore in college life took quite a turn. Dealing with the physical limitations of this illness, anxiety, and uncertainty that lied before me was what guided me to wanting to help others. I understand the complexities that chronic illness brings. Having to always be thinking ahead, being unable to live a “normal” life, brought challenges that I never could have imagined. Finding a “new normal” was a challenge that I could have never imagined.

As someone who has battled with chronic illness for many years, I understand the plethora of life challenges that come with not only the physical difficulties, but the mental ones.I know how hard it is to get started, and I understand the importance of being able to have a coach act as a sounding board to life’s anxieties and biggest challenges.

My goal is to be there with you, every step of the way, through the many challenges that life throws at you, be someone who you can rely on and fall back on when you need support, and provide space for you to express whatever it may be that you are feeling.
